Annual Charity Golf Day - Monday 6th September 2010

Our annual Golf Day at Bishopswood Golf Club, Tadley, is usually a popular event. Bishopswood is one of the best nine hole golf courses in the country and is usually in excellent condition in early September, when we hold our competition, a four ball better ball Stableford off a 7/8th handicap allowance.

As a result of our 2009 event, we were able to raise £1,050 which we increased to £1,500 to enable a cheque for this amount to be presented to St Michael's Hospice, Basingstoke. (We also presented a further cheque for £5,000 as part of the proceeds from our Treacle Fair held in June 2009). For Pictures of the prizegiving, Click Here.

We were fortunate to have good weather and the course was in excellent condition resulting in very high scoring with the winners, Messrs Hunsdon and Dear, notching up 50 points. We had prizes for the first five teams, nearest the pin, longest drives (ladies and gentlemen) and a putting competition. For pictures of action on the course, Click Here.

We also held an excellent tombola and a raffle for a balloon trip both of which boosted our earnings for the day.

We would like to thank to all those who donated prizes, the players for supporting the event, all the helpers and finally, the owners of Bishopswood Golf Course for providing their course to enable us to run this very successful event.
