Annual Charity Golf Day

Our annual Golf Day at Bishopswood Golf Club, Tadley, is usually a popular event. Bishopswood is one of the best nine hole golf courses in the country and is usually in excellent condition in early September, when we hold our competition, a four ball better ball Stableford off a 7/8th handicap allowance. Our 2012 event will be held on Monday 3 September.

A cotender for the Longest Drive? As a result of our 2011 event, we were able to donate £1,000 to         St Michael's Hospice, Basingstoke and £500 to the Tadley NHS Community Responders

We were fortunate to have reasonable weather for most of the day for our 2011 event, but as in 2010 there were tricky wind conditions to contend with at times.  We had prizes for the first five teams, nearest the pin, longest drives (ladies and gentlemen) and a putting competition.  For pictures of the 2011 Course Action, Click Here.   For the first time in the history of the competition, the winner of the Nearest the Pin prize achieved a Hole in One! Despite this, the Sin Bin on the fifth hole swelled the day's takings by £50.

We also held an excellent tombola which boosted our earnings for the day.

Loddon Valley Lions would like to thank to all those who donated prizes (Click Here for Details of our 2011 Sponsors), the players for supporting the event, all the helpers and finally, the owners of Bishopswood Golf Course for providing their course to enable us to run this very successful event.
