Father Christmas in Franklin Avenue Tadley on 23 DecemberLoddon Valley Lions were able to take Father Christmas out and about during December. His first tour on Tuesday 2 December could not take place, as the Covid 'Lockdown' did not end until midnight that evening. However, the tour was postponed and did take place on the 23 December. Despite two small areas of that tour being in West Berkshire, under Tier 4 Covid restrictions, Father Christmas was able to travel slowly past, sufficiently close for him to be seen from bedroom windows in those areas and many were seen waving from those windows. We were also lucky in being able to take Father Christmas to Mortimer, as that area went into Tier 4 restrictions almost immediately after his visit.

Father Christmas received a great welcome everywhere he went and people expressed their gratitude for bringing a little cheer into their lives at this difficult time.

People were able to track Father Christmas via the 'Track Santa' link published each evening on this Website, to enable them to greet him as he passed their house.

Santa & HuskyCovid restrictions meant that we were unable to operate as we would have liked this year and as a result we were unable to collect as much money as we normally would. Nevertheless,

Nevertheless, Loddon Valley Lions sincerely thank everyone who came out to donate and also those who donated through this website, for their generosity.

This generosity has helped to fund over a hundred Christmas parcels, which have been delivered to the elderly, lonely and vulnerable in our local community and also support activities in local homes for such people to try and provide a better Christmas than they might otherwise enjoy.

We wish everyone a very happy Christmas and New Year
